Back in March, we unveiled several new developer tools, including the
iOS mobile SDK. That was just the beginning and we promised
there would be more innovations coming soon.
Today we're announcing that the new Android SDK will be available on Wednesday. The new Android SDK is a native mobile payments solution that integrates
simply and seamlessly into your Android apps, and removes payment
friction so developers can focus on creating amazing experiences.
The PayPal Android SDK is quick to integrate and easy to use,
providing everything a developer needs to accept both PayPal and
credit card payments.
The latest SDK builds on our belief that developers need the
freedom to innovate for customers, and not worry about the
complexities with payments. Consumers never leave the developer's
app experience to pay and they have more choice in the way they
want to pay - simply click a PayPal button or scan a credit or
debit card using our card.io technology. And, we do it securely so that developers
can significantly reduce their fraud prevention or PCI compliance
Developers also get a payments solution that scales with them as
they grow. PayPal connects more than 128 million account holders
across more than 50 financial networks in 190 markets and in 25
currencies around the globe.
For more documentation and resources for integrating payments
into your Android apps, go to the new PayPal developer site. The
PayPal SDK for Android supports versions 2.2 and above, and will be
available for U.S. developers on May 15.
